The Release of IEB Matric Results first give advantage to secure university space

Posted on 20 January 202220 January 2022 by Khabza

The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) will publish its matric candidate’s results on media platforms as it has done in the past. This comes after Umalusi announced the approval of the release of the 2021 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination results.

It has been announced that the IEB results will be published on Wednesday, 19 January 2022, should you need a remark, applications will open on 31 January 2022.

Only candidates who have written IEB examinations have access to retrieve their results on the IEB official website.

You can access your results in two ways, either online or via SMS.

Online:

Here is how you can find your IEB matric results:

IEB Students can log on to the IEB website to access their results.

  1. Log on to the IEB website
  2. Towards the release date of your results, register for the IEB SMS line.
  3. Pick up your results from your high school.

SMS line:

Provide the IEB with your phone number and on the day of the results, you’ll be sent an SMS. To register for this service, send an SMS to 35135, including your ID number and exam number.

NB: Each SMS costs R3

IEB spokesperson Teresa Settas said they had been publishing the NSC results in compliance with the requirements of Popia for years.

Settas said:

Only the results of learners who have opted in and have provided express permission for their results to be published on media platforms are released by the IEB.

In the previous year, IEB schools got a matric pass rate of just over 98%, marking ‘excellent performance’ in a tough year, even though the impact of Covid-19 on the schooling population saw several learners withdraw from the year and postpone completion of Grade 12 until 2021.
