ASSA has officially announced the dates that SASSA grants will be paid for the month of October 2021. SASSA grants assist various groups of vulnerable individuals with the newest grant being the R350 grant.

The SASSA grant payment dates for October 2021 have been released, just in time as we approach the end of September and the beginning of October.

The SASSA grant payment dates for October are:

  • Older Person’s Grants 5 October 2021
    • This includes any grants linked to these accounts
  • Disability Grants 6 October 2021
    • This includes any grants linked to these accounts
  • Foster Care Grants 7 October 2021
  • Care Dependency Grants 7 October 2021
  • Child Support Grants 7 October 2021

As for the Covid-19 Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, SASSA has said, “There is no fixed payment date for the special COVID-19 SRD grant”.

SASSA continued to explain:

Every month your application will be checked to verify if you still qualify for the grant. You will be paid each month, provided you still qualify for that month.

This then also means that you only need to submit one SRD grant application.

Should you do a SASSA status check on your R350 grant application and it shows that it is approved with no paydate, it means payment has not been processed yet but will be.

SASSA continues to say, “There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed”.
