Following a series of complaints from social grant recipients relating to their grant payment dates, Sassa has announced that they have made changes to the payment date schedule.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has recently announced that they have made changes to the social grant payment dates schedule.

The agency says that with effect from April 2022, social grants payments will be made on the second day of the month. Sassa added that if the second day of the month happens to be during the weekend or public holiday, payments will be made on the following working day.

The agency further stated that they will follow the usual procedure of first prioritizing the pay of older persons and linked grants, followed by disability grants the next day and then child grants.

Grant beneficiaries have to bring all the required documentation in order to ensure that their grant payments are processed without any inconveniences.

Sassa manages grants and allowances for groups in South African society who may need financial assistance. This includes grants for children, older persons and those living with disabilities.

Grant payments are made in many different ways. They can be paid through a bank account, through your SASSA card, through a Post Office or through CashSend.
