Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is looking for a finance intern based at their offices in Johannesburg. The Finance Intern will provide administrative and accounting support to the finance team and carry out other finance-related duties as required from the Head of Finance and the Finance Officer. All interns get paid an hourly stipend. Please note that this is a 3-month part-time internship (3 days a week).
MSF is an independent international medical humanitarian organisation that delivers aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-made disasters, or to people that are excluded from access to health care.
Responsibilities
- Data entry and verification on Excel for debit notes
- Assist with re-invoicing – checking invoices, reconciliation and posting debit notes
- Assist with weekly finance data filing
- Assist with month-end closing procedures – checking general ledger, monthly checklists and filing
- Assist with data collection for monthly payroll procedures – check instructions and accompanying documentation
- Assist in reviewing finance forms and templates and implementing recommendations
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification / studying towards a qualification in accounting; or
- 1-2 years’ experience in an accounting environment
- Proficieny in Excel, Word and Outlook
