Preamble

Minimum Requirements

• A Masters Degree in English/Communication or an equivalent field
• At least 5 years’ experience teaching English/Communication at a Higher Education institution
• Relevant management and leadership experience

Recommendations

• Doctoral qualification in English/Communication or an equivalent field
• Experience in both the technical and education aspects of e-Learning systems
• Publication of books and articles
• Supervision of postgraduate students

Key Performance Areas

• Establish, lead and manage the Unit for Business Communication
• Effective Human Resource Management
• Identification of human and technical resources needed to support effective use of Communication or Languages, teaching, learning and administration
• Lead and manage staff to improve research outputs and collaborate with other departments to sustain excellence in scholarship
• Formulate a Faculty Language and Communication strategy
• Liaison between institutional Language Committee and Faculty
• Assist faculty and staff in dealing with communication and language issues
