Matric Results To Be Released

When will matric results 2021 be released? Date 20 January 2022

The Department of Basic Education has confirmed that the first day of the matric examination paper one was a success.

The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga said the 2021 matric learners have been working under a lot of pressure.

Motshekga says she is positive about the matric class of 2021 though they had to endure difficult times leading up to their last round of exams. The Class of 2021 has experienced the worst circumstances due to Covid-19.

Everybody has been rallying behind them, and teachers also aware that it’s a class which has been seriously disadvantaged by the Covid-19 pandemic, but there has been a lot of support directed to them, she said.

The Minister hopes that the support shown towards the class of 2021 will be sustained and continue beyond this year.

I’m hopeful that the support that has been mobilised inside and outside of the government will be sustained for other years.

The 2021 Matric class can expect to receive their results at the end of January next year.

Department Releases Final Matric Examination Timetable 2021

The Department of Basic Education said in Pretoria that the national announcement of the matric results is expected to be made on 20 January.

The country has been grappling with blackouts, as Eskom announced on Wednesday that the country was entering Stage 4 power cuts, but the department is grateful that there were no interruptions due to loadshedding.

The department spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga warns that no irregularities will be allowed during the matric examination and every participant is expected to work honestly and uphold the highest integrity of the department.

Motshekga said they have been assured that all necessary measures are in place to protect the exam papers, after last year’s leaks.

The department announced that marking will take place immediately after the examinations are complete in December.
