Unisa Extends Assignment Deadlines

The national lockdown has caused problems for many students who are studying from home and attempting to submit assignments.  Unisa has recognised the problems they are having by allowing an extension to the submission date for assignments.

The national lockdown has caused problems for many students who are studying from home and attempting to submit assignments.  Unisa has recognised the problems they are having by allowing an extension to the submission date for assignments.

In an announcement released this morning (9th May) Unisa has confirmed that assignments that were due on the 

“We are aware that some students were unable to submit assignments by the extended assignment due date of 8 May 2020. Students may still submit assignments until Wednesday 13 May 2020. No further extensions will be granted”.

In another announcement today the university also announced that they have been working on upgrading their capacity. 

“In response to Covid-19 and technical challeges encountered with our systems, the University embarked on a process of ensuring that its systems are ready to provide support to students. Our systems are now able to clear 3000 online assignments per minute. As the Vice Chancellor, Prof Mandla Makhanya said this is a demonstration of, “Unisa’s unique capacity” as an Open Distance and e-learning (ODeL) institution”.
