The South African Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR): Bursary 2018

The South African Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR) is calling for Applications for its 2015 SAIRR Bursary.

The South African Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR) is a classically liberal think-tank promoting the ideas and policy solutions necessary to drive the investment and economic growth that will free South Africa’s people from unemployment, dependency, and poverty

SAIRR is proud to have been funding the education of poor South Africans, regardless of race, since 1935.

Since 1980 the organisation has provided more than R221 million in bursary funding and produced over 3 600 medical, business, management, scientific, education, and engineering graduates.

This has been a major contribution to economic empowerment in South Africa – since long before the idea became popular.

There are six steps to applying for a bursary from the Institute:

  • Complete the online application form below. The closing date by which to complete this form is 31 August 2014;
  • The completed online applications will be reviewed by the Institute.
  • They will produce a shortlist of potential bursary recipients;
  • The Institute will contact all short-listed applicants.
  • Each short-listed applicant will be supplied with documents that he or she will require in order to complete the application process.
  • Note that if you are not contacted by the Institute by 30 September 2014 then you have not been shortlisted;
  • Shortlisted candidates must complete the documents they received and return these to the Institute by 15 November 2014;
  • The Institute’s bursary selection committee will review all those final applications received on or before 14 November 2014 and make decisions about which students are to receive bursaries for 2015.

These decisions will be taken by 14 February 2015; and

The Institute will notify the students who have been granted bursaries.
