Submit CV: Internship Programme at Chevron SA

Chevron is looking to offer Work Place Experience (Vacation Training) for students in their 2nd or 4th year during the 2016 mid-year university break. Note, Work Place Experience (Vacation Training) for students in their 3rd year will take place during the Dec/Jan break; this opportunity will be advertised in July 2016.

Chevron is one of the world’s leading energy companies, with approximately 60,000 employees working in countries around the world. We explore, produce and transport crude oil and natural gas; refine, market and distribute fuels and other energy products; manufacture and sell petrochemical products; generate power; and develop future energy resources, including biofuels and geothermal energy.

Chevron South Africa operates a 100,000 barrels per day refinery in Milnerton, Cape Town, that produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, fuel oil, paving asphalt and other products. Chevron South Africa also has interests in a lubricant oil manufacturing plant in Durban and maintains a laboratory and blending plant there.

Requirements
Second Year Mechanical Engineering Students

  • Students will be assigned to the Reliability and Maintenance Department, in the workshops. Must be studying towards a BSc in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Must be in their 2nd year during the 2016 mid-year university break.

Fourth Year Mechanical Engineering Students

  • Students will be assigned to the Technical Services Department, working on a project. Must be studying towards a BSc in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics. Must be in their 4th year during the 2016 mid-year university break

Fourth Year Chemical Engineering

  • Students will assigned technical work in the Technical Services Department. Must be studying towards a BSc in Chemical Engineering. Must be in their 4th year during the 2016 mid-year university break

Second Year Electrical Engineering Students

  • Students will be assigned to the Reliability and Maintenance Department. Must be studying towards a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or Mechatronics. Must be in their 2nd year during the 2016 mid-year university break

Fourth Year Electrical Engineering Students

  • Students will assigned technical work in the Technical Services Department. Must be studying towards a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or Mechatronics. Must be in their 4th year during the 2016 mid-year university break
