Internal Audit Internship Opportunity at The Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA)

The Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) has an Internal Audit Internship opportunity in Midrand. This Internal Audit Internship is a two year contract which follows the IAT structured training programme. The successful applicant will join a team of eight Internal Auditors. Applicants must want to make Internal Audit a career and must have at least a BCom degree.

Key Responsibilities

  • Documenting client processes and procedures for audit understanding
  • Overall performance of audit procedures which include risk identification and assessment, developing audit programmes , conducting fieldwork and developing audit findings in line with internal audit methodology;
  • Attend and conduct client meetings and liaise with clients continuously during the audit;
  • Complete assigned audit work within allocated budget.
  • Conduct research on specific areas relevant to internal audit;
  • Manage own productivity deliverables on a timely and efficient manner ensuring that deliverables are submitted on time and in a satisfactory manner.
  • Provide periodic operational reports as when required
  • Maintain organizational and professional ethical standards
  • Comply with all aspects of the leadership agreement and contract

Expertise & Technical Competencies

  • A qualification of at least a diploma or degree in Internal Auditing.
  • Studying towards an Honours degree will be an advantage

Required Personal Attributes

  • The role requires good teamwork, writing and time management skills
  • The candidate should also have the ability to take ownership of tasks, be proactive and resourceful and display an awareness of customer cost and quality issues
  • Strong in problem solving
  • Strict deadline orientation
  • Ability to work under pressure
