iMod Digital look for SEO Graduate in Cape Town

It has come to that point again where I need to try and seek out a truly talented digital marketer who has a very keen interest in search engine optimisation. Someone who can be given a task and is able to run with it, return when it is complete and not be afraid to ask team members for assistance. Someone who understands search engine optimisation without having to turn to Google for answers and someone who wants to avoid corporate cock shafting and prefers to work in a small and dynamic team of driven individuals.

This is a full time position in Cape Town.

Putting a job specification takes a lot of time so please have a good read through this before applying:

  • On-site and off-site technical analysis should be something you start thinking about every time you visit a website. By looking at a website for just 5-10 minutes you should be able to say where and why the website needs attention.
  • Technical implementation shouldn’t trouble you. Connecting to a server to upload files should be a piece of cake. Uploading a plugin via FTP and activating it on a WordPress website is something you can handle with ease.
  • Making changes to a website’s CSS and HTML is a fun task and not a scary experience. PHP shouldn’t put you off either.
  • Gathering statistical information is a cinch and turning the data into a comprehensible written report for clients draws out the Shakespeare within.
  • Google Analytics and Search Console are more important to you than Facebook and Twitter. Custom Dashboards, Data Segmenting, Filters and Goals shouldn’t make you bat an eyelid.
  • Familiarity with software solutions such as Moz, Xenu, Screaming Frog and the likes is a given.
  • Thorough understanding of the theory behind SEO techniques & strategies – content creation, link building, social media, user experience, technical SEO etc.
  • Proven track record of increasing traffic and conversions, while also building brands in an online space
  • Mapping keywords to pages, tracking the keywords and suggesting contextual improvements to the team.
  • The ability to deliver on time, handle pressure and juggle a dynamic environment.
  • Be a self-starter and drive forward autonomously
  • Work well in a team within a fast paced environment while loving the pressure and reporting to our Head of Inbound Marketing.
  • Excellent language skills both written and spoken.

I’m not looking for someone fresh out of college, but rather someone that has a couple of years experience under their belt. This is the sort of position that won’t come with a lot of training, you’ll be up and running within a couple of days and working on campaigns before the end of the week.

I might be biased, but iMod Digital is a lovely company to work at, we’re a great team of individuals and we enjoy what we do. There are plenty of great moments to be had and we need another person to join in on those moments.

If you’re interested, pop me a line and let’s have a chat. I’ve found over the years that the most creative applications are the ones that end up in my curious box.

Ps. No, you can’t have my email address. If you call yourself an SEO you’ll be able to track it down 😉
