Individuals receiving funds from SASSA who want to check their balance are urged to avoid going to an ATM to check their balance.

SASSA beneficiaries need to be very careful and be sure to not give your SASSA card and their PIN to anyone you don’t highly trust.

SASSA has been providing its citizens with social grants to reduce poverty among disadvantaged groups and increase investment in education, nutrition and health.

SASSA was created in 2005 to distribute social grants on behalf of the Department of Social Development. This was done to improve the standards of living in the country and are given to people who are vulnerable.

SASSA distributes the Care Dependency Grant, Child Support Grant, Disability Grant, Foster Child Grant, Old Persons Grant, War Veteran’s Grant, Grant-In Aid and there are other temporary grants as well.
