How To Apply For Education Assistant Jobs

Applications for education assistant jobs are now open for those hoping to be a part of the second phase of applications.

This is part of the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI), which is calling on young people to apply for a chance to fill over 287 000 education assistant vacancies.

Applications opened on 27 September and will be closing on 3 October 2021. In order to apply, applicants must ensure that they meet the qualifying criteria, which includes:

  • Being between the ages of 18 and 35 (including young people with disability and women)
  • Currently not in education/training
  • Not receiving any form of government grant
Unemployed youth urged to apply for 300 000 assistant teaching posts

If you meet the qualifying criteria, you can follow these steps to apply for the education assistant positions:

  1. Visit the sayouth.mobi or https://tshepo.mobi/ website
  • – If you have already registered with SA Youth, Harambee or Tshepo 1 Million, You can just click LOGIN
  • – If you have forgotten your password, click the FORGOT PASSWORD button
  • – If you haven’t yet registered with any of these organizations, click “Join the network”
  1. The next page you see will tell you what you need in order to complete your registration and how long it will take

– This process is estimated to not take longer than 4 minutes

  1. Use your ID number to register

– You can still register on the system even if you do not have an ID number

  1. Once you have completed the registration process, a list of jobs available in your area will come up

– This list will include opportunities for schools that are closest to you

– All applicants are advised to only apply for schools that are close or within walking distance

  1. Click the “Read More” button

– You will then be able to read more about the details of the opportunity

  1. Click the “Apply now” button if you are interested in applying for the opportunity

– Once you have applied, you will receive a notification on your screen informing you that your application has been successful

  1. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via SMS or phone call by the school

 – Applicants are advised to keep their phones close to them and on at all times until 24 October 2021

  1. If you are contacted for an interview, you will be asked to bring supporting documents

The following documents will be required:

  • – Certified copy of your ID
  • – Matric certificate (if required for the role you’ve applied for) OR other NQF OR other proof of higher education 
  • – Your CV
  • – A testimonial letter (from a former school, local chief, church leader or previous employer)
