eNCA has a position for a Production Assistant within the Creative Services Department in Johannesburg. This is a one year contract position only

Reporting to the News Editor eNCA, your job profile will include:

• Print scripts and ensure anchors have them timeously
• Liaise between output desk and floor manager, executive producers, logistics and video editors
• Fetch guests and take them to the green room, make-up or studio
• Call reporters, police, emergency services or any other news maker as required by the output editor
• Set up interviews with newsmakers
• Ensure the guest room is presentable
• Write copy for news bulletins when required by the output editor

Requirements

• Journalism Degree or National Diploma (will consider those requiring one year experiential training)
• Excellent writing skills
• Sound editorial judgement and interpretational skills
• An exceptional grasp of current affairs
• Wide-ranging general knowledge
• Excellent command of the English language
• Must be meticulous, accurate and passionate
• Must show exceptional initiative
• Video editing skills and/or ability to voice news inserts a distinct advantage
• Ability to work under pressure to meet regular deadlines

Note:

The successful candidate will be required to work irregular and long hours, including weekends, public holidays and standby shifts.
