Avatar is looking to appoint a Social Media Community Manager Intern in Johannesburg (Parkwood). The intern will report to the Head of Social Engagement.

Description
- Provide direct support to the social media community managers, as well as the head of social media
- Support duties will include, but will not necessarily be limited to: research, copywriting, editing and image sourcing
- Must understand internal processes of the entire agency
- Is expected to keep up to date with the latest features and news regarding the digital marketing space, and in particular social media
- Provide the social media team with insight and knowledge on tasks given
- Conduct general research, as well as reading which will be required on a daily basis.
- Must understand the full extent of the community manager’s daily duties. This includes writing social media content for various platforms, client interaction, creative briefing processes, campaign and content strategies as well as reporting and analytics.
Minimum Qualification
- Matric Certificate
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing would be advantageous
Essential Experience
- An understanding of the social media landscape as a whole
- Copywriting experience will be an advantage
- Key understanding of Microsoft Excel and Google Drive (Intermediate level)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge
- A strong command of the English Language
- Knowledge of the operation and management of popular social networks, such as, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn
- General marketing knowledge
Skills & Abilities
- Creative writing will be an advantage
