Now in its tenth year, the Loeries® Creative Future Scholarship seeks to push South Africa forward by bolstering its creative economy through investing in creative skills development.

Vega School Of Brand Leadership in Durban will be thrilled to learn that an opportunity to apply for a 2018 scholarship has opened for applications. The Lories Creative Future Scholarship was initiated in 2008 in an effort to encourage and enable creativity at grassroots level for youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The scholarships include fees, as well as allowances for study materials and textbooks, living expenses, and transport, and a notebook computer in their second year of study. In addition, the students will receive mentorship, internships and assistance with employment when they have completed their studies.

The Loeries® Creative Future Scholarship will provide the students with mentorship from Greg Tregoning, co-founder of Vega School of Brand Leadership, assistance with internships, as well as management of allowances of R20,000 per year. The total value of each scholarship is R500,000.

Who can apply?
For 2017, only Grade 12 learners in KwaZulu-Natal, who come from a disadvantaged background will be eligible.

The current total value of the Creative Future Scholarship per student (excluding computer & tuition fees) is R71,000!
Plus it offers mentorship, internships and finally employment in the communications industry after studying. But don’t think this is a free ride. Creativity isn’t easy. The top candidates will be invited to an interview and the recipient of the scholarship will be announced at the awards ceremony during Loeries®Creative Week Durban 2017.
