AMPATH Durban: Matric/Grade 12 Phlebotomy Technician Learnership 2018

Pathologist group, Drs DU Buisson, Kramer, Swart, Bouwer Inc, also known as Ampath are inviting applications for their Phlebotomy Technician Learnerships for 2015/2016 which will be based in Westridge, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal (for classroom tuition) and throughout Durban for practical training. Applications are invited from young South Africans with a Grade 12/Matric qualification with English, Life Sciences (Biology) and Mathematics. If appointed you will be required to sign in a learnership contract and a performance contract with Ampath. Ampath will not provide accommodation for successful learners, however a competitive stipend will be paid.

What are the requirements?

  • Have a strong command of the English language;
  • Have a Grade 12/Matric school leaving certificate;
  • Grade 11 English and Mathematics will be considered;
  • Have English, Mathematics (Symbols A to D – 50% to 100% pass mark) and Life Sciences (Symbols A to D – 50% to 100% pass) as passed Matric subjects.

What will the learnership entail?

The learnership will include classroom training in Westridge, Durban plus practical training at one of the Ampath depots accross Durban.

As qualified Phlebotomy Technician you will be responsible for collecting blood samples and other non-blood specimen for pathological tests.
