The Mail & Guardian is reporting that 25-year-old Thuthukile Zuma was given the powerful position of Chief of Staff in the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services.
President Jacob Zuma’s daughters was promoted within two months from a public liaison officer to a senior high paying position despite her lack of experience.
The presidency says it will not comment on the claims.
It’s being reported that the post which Thuthukile now holds was never advertised, but that ministers can use their discretion to appoint someone without opening it to the public.
The Mail & Guardian is reporting that the president’s daughter earns almost R1 million annually suggesting that one needs at least five to 10 years of experience for the job.
