Capfin is looking for a Software Testing Intern. Successful candidates will gain the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to enter the Software Testing discipline within Capfin, with the successful completion of the programme leading to the possibility of progressing to the role of a Trainee Software Tester for successful candidates.
Responsibilities
Upskilling on Software Testing discipline
- Commit to the internship training and upskilling programme by ensuring 100% commitment.
- Attend the software testing training programme as set out in the internship programme.
- Write and pass (> 65%) an internal SQL test.
- Write and pass (> 65%) the ISTQB Foundation certification.
- Become proficient in SQL 2012 queries. (must be able to pass internal tests)
- Attend in-house training on testing tools (Microsoft TFS and Test Manager) and pass relevant written tests and workplace assignments.
Upskilling on Captiv8 platform
- Be committed to on the job training on the Captiv8 administration platform.
- Write and pass regular tests based on upskilling on the Captiv8 platform.
- Assist test team with test execution based on knowledge gained in the internship programme.
- Shadow current test team members with the aim of upskilling on Captiv8 systems and regression testing function.
- Become proficient on the New Business, Customer Service, Collections and Telephony functional areas of the Captiv8 platform.
Software Testing – General
- Assist test team with ad hoc test administration tasks
- Attend various testing and project related meetings (ex JAD sessions, Post Project reviews, stand-ups etc.)
- Assist test team members with test execution (both regression and systems).
- Provide test execution status reports to Team Lead / Test Manager.
- Review test basis with a view to understanding test objectives and scope.
- Update test case status in Microsoft Test Manager.
- Record test results and anomalies in Microsoft Test Manager.
Requirements
- 3-year tertiary qualification in a relevant IT related field of study
- Experience in the financial services industry (operations or support function) will be beneficial
Skills & Knowledge Required
- No previous experience in software testing is required.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel essential.
- Experience in Windows 7 or above.
- Programming and database knowledge recommended.
