Requirements and Duties:
Requirements:
- A valid NQF 4 certificate or Electrician trade test certificate and Grade 12/N3 with Electrical Trade Theory, Maths and Science.
- 3 years post qualification experience as Junior Electrician in the petrochemical industry or marine environment.
- The succesful incumbent must be willing to work on a two weeks on and two weeks off rota basis.
Duties:
- Perform switching operations to isolate and energise circuits on electrical equipment or machinery to enable Production, Maintenance and Marine departments to utilise the electrical equipment or machinery safely.
- Implement preventative maintenance to maximise equipment availability and ensure that electrical equipment/machinery is maintained to the required standards.
- Test, troubleshoot and commission electrical equipment/machinery to ensure that problems are rectified and maintain maximum availability of electrical equipment/machinery at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections on electrical equipment/machinery and identify and record defects on electrical equipment/machinery.
- Update the relevant quality management systems to ensure that all the required information is captured and stored for planning, referencing and audit purposes.
- Implement SHEQ, housekeeping and the relevant plant operating procedures to ensure that the workplace is kept clean and safe for operation at all times.
- Provide advice and assistance to internal and external customers regarding requests or queries related to the electrical equipment/machinery being utilised within the plant area for quality customer service.
