New loveLife Trust Monitoring & Evaluation Internship June 2018

The New loveLife Trust Internship open to recruit 2 suitable interns for the Monitoring & Evaluation unit at the National Office in Sandton.The New loveLife Trust is youth leadership development NGO that campaigns with nationwide community level outreach and supports programmes that promote socioeconomic and healthy, HIV-free living among young South Africans. loveLife has reached unprecedented scale in implementing cutting-edge comprehensive and combined social behaviour change programming face-to-face with adolescents.Total remuneration package: R6 000 per month

The successful applicants would be required to fulfil the following primary functions in a professional manner and with technical excellence:

  • Planning and implementation of evaluation projects.
  • Definition and reviews of programme indicators.
  • Design and application of monitoring and evaluation tools.
  • Data analysis and reporting.
  • Fieldwork, such as Focus Group Discussions, interviews and application of questionnaires. Desktop research and literature reviews.
  • Data capturing and quality assurance.
  • Any other processes related to Monitoring and Evaluation of loveLife’s programmes.

Suitable candidates will need to satisfy the following requirements:

  • Degree or advanced study in Social Sciences, Political Science, Economics, Public Health or related field.
  • Interest in Monitoring and Evaluation.
  • Previous experiences in the area of Monitoring and Evaluation is an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel. Experience with advanced data analysis and/or statistical programmes such as SPSS or STATA is an asset.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Interest or knowledge/experiences in Youth Leadership Development and HIV prevention.
  • Experience in literature review.
  • Experience with interviews and focus group discussions is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in changing teams.
  • Flexibility and efficiency.
