The Mitchell’s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust assists with registration and/or tuition fees for studies at tertiary institutions such as the University of Cape Town, University of the Western Cape, University of Stellenbosch, Cape Peninsula University of Technology and Further Education and Training Colleges.

The Trust will offer financial assistance to a maximum amount set by the Trust to applicants that have been successfully accepted for further study at a tertiary institution.

The Trust does not provide full bursaries and applicants are advised to also apply for additional corporate bursaries, government bursaries through NSFAS or publicly funded loans or grants to cover their tuition fees.

The Trust facilitates learners’ access to tertiary education through initial funding and support.

Criteria for Application

In order to qualify for consideration for a bursary from the Mitchell’s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust, you must:

  • Be a Grade 12 learner from one of the 17 high schools in Mitchell’s Plain
  • Reside in Mitchell’s Plain
  • Be financially deserving
  • Have a recommendation from your school to apply for the bursary and
  • Meet the deadline of 30 November 2015 for completed applications.

The Trust will consider applications from academically and financially deserving learners from across all the high schools in Mitchell’s Plain.
