The aim of the Graduate Programme is to provide development opportunities for promising future academics from previously disadvantaged backgrounds with their desire to join higher education. Once you have completed your studies, you will continue to render your services to our organisation for a period equal to the duration of your bursary.
The Johannesburg programme is target at students currently studying or about to study in the following fields:
- Business Management
- Economics
- Marketing
- Finance / Accounting
The prescribed institutions include:
- University of Johannesburg
- Wits University
- Or a university within the geographical location of our campus (Melville, Johannesburg), allowing you to attend any further training relating to the programme.
- BCOM Financial Planning
- BCOM / BusScience Finance
- BCOM with Financial Planning and/or Insurance modules
- BCOM / BusScience Banking
- BCOM / BusScience Economics
- BCOM / BusScience Accounting
- BCOM / BusScience Investment
The prescribed institutions include:
- University of Cape Town
- University of Stellenbosch
- Cape Peninsula University of Technology
- Or a university within the geographical location of our campus (Melville, Johannesburg), allowing you to attend any further training relating to the programme
Programme Framework
A supervisor will be assigned to you and fulfil the role of line manager and coach. He or she will assist and support you during the periods that you work at Milpark Education. You will be given a job description and performance contract which will details Milpark Educations’ expectations during these periods. Performance reviews will be conducted periodically in order for you to develop and grow.
This will give you an opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience as well as apply your knowledge in a formal work environment, while working with experts in your chosen field of study.
As a participant of the Graduate Programme, you will receive:
- A bursary which will cover the costs of your studies
- An opportunity to work in our organisation during your vacation, and
- Coaching and guidance from one of our professional staff members.
In order to participate in this programme, you must meet all the listed criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be unemployed
- Be in possession of an undergraduate qualification in the below learning areas
- Meet the entrance criteria to a post graduate programme (Honours or Masters) in the below fields
- Be studying, or about to study, one of the prescribed qualifications on a full time basis
- Be studying at, or about to study at one of the prescribed institutions
- Be successful in your interview with the selection panel at Milpark Education
