Medication aides are certified nursing assistants who have attained training and certification in dispensing medication to patients under a registered nurse or a physician. Since this role requires an individual to be very responsible, there are a lot of skills that employers require when hiring a medication aide.
One of the prime responsibilities of a medication aide is to observe patients for changes or deteriorations which is why it is important for them to be aware of their surroundings and edict keen observation skills. They also need to be able to take initiative in emergency situations; keeping their eyes and ears open to what is happening around them is important.
