Mammoet Southern Africa is looking for an intern who has completed an Engineering Degree and requires work place experience and on the job training. The appointed intern will work with a mentor that is an experienced engineer for the duration of four (4) months.
The appointed intern will provide assistance to the engineering department, conduct engineering work which will include but not limited to document control according to internal control systems, equipment drawings, making technical calculations and using Auto-cad drawings for calculating specifications of equipment that need to be utilised in transportation, lifting and handling of heavy loads. The intern will be trained as a rigger in order to assist in the execution of projects.
During the program the intern will develop skills that will allow for practical and theoretical understanding of engineering in our industry. The intern will further develop skills that will enable him/ her to use technical, mathematical and verbal skills in the engineering department to conduct work, make decisions and to generate effective solutions. The intern will also gain valuable knowledge when being trained on Mammoet specific software, will futhure develop communication and documentation skills in terms of transportation and heavy lifting. Mammoet will require the intern to write a comprehensive report at the end of the four (4) months about the experiences, findings, skills and lessons learned.
