Many of us have come across instances when another position within the same company holds interest for us. If there are no rules against applying for a job in another department (or within the department), the best way to go about it is to write a letter of interest.
An employer will not necessarily discourage an employee to apply for a job within the company as there are many pros to this – hiring people from within a company means that there will be little or no training costs as the employee will be familiar with the company.
The type of job that you want is actually up to you – you may want to climb the ladder and apply for a higher post or move sideways to a similar one in another department. In either case, you will need to write a letter of interest to express your will to move from your current position. Here is how you can do this.
