John Thompson: Matric or N3 Apprenticeship

John Thompson invites application for 12 Apprenticeship positions available in the areas of Boilermaking & Welding). Candidates will be situated at the John Thompson Bellville Office.

Candidates will undergo a Psychometric Test and once successful, employed on a three month evaluation period as unskilled workers. Upon successful completion of the evaluation period JT Management shall offer apprenticeships to applicants who have, within Management’s discretion, proven their potential to successfully complete an apprenticeship.

John Thompson, a division of ACTOM (Pty) Ltd, is South Africa’s largest manufacturer of industrial and utility boilers and services in both local and export markets. We are involved with world-competitive design, manufacturing, construction and maintenance of industrial boilers and combustion equipment.

Requirements

With an interest in Engineering you need the following qualifications:

  • Minimum qualification of Standard 9/Grade 11 Technical with Metal Work and Welders Theory OR Standard 9/Grade 11 Academic with Maths (No Maths Literacy) and Physical Science OR N2 Trade Theory Subjects (Platers Theory or Welders Theory) OR NCV (National Certificate Vocational) Level 4 Fabrication
  • Medically fit for relevant trades. Training will be provided to the successful candidates, therefore no experience is necessary.
  • Please note that only candidates who reside in the Western Cape will be considered.
