eNCA is looking for a Junior Current Affairs Producer to join the Judge for Yourself & Justice Factor teams. In this position, you will be part of the Current Affairs Department in Johannesburg.
Reporting to the Executive Producer your Key Performance Areas will include:
- Developing content for both shows, constantly coming up with ideas
- Setting up guests for both shows
- Doing research and writing scripts
- Doing inserts for current affairs shows
- Attending and participating actively in daily production and editorial meetings
- Writing and producing promos for both shows, including sourcing of visuals
- Assist with other current affairs shows where necessary
- Create rundown and produce live shows
Requirements
- Journalism Diploma/Degree qualification
- A passion for News and Current affairs
- An avid interest in legal issues
- A thorough understanding of South Africa’s social, political and economic situation
- A thorough understanding of international politics and current affairs
- Be convincing, persuasive and tenacious
- Have good news contacts and sources
- Some experience as a journalist
- Be well-read and have an excellent general knowledge
- Initiative
- Working independently
- Ability to work well in a team
Note: The successful candidate will be required to work irregular hours including weekends and public holidays.
