The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) is inviting applications for its Johny Makhathini Ubuntu Diplomatic Corps programme, named after Johnstone “Johny” Mfanafuthi Makhathini, the late freedom fighter and head of International Affairs for South Africa’s liberation movement who died while in exile in Zambia in 1988 – the programme is a cadet learnership programme comprising both practical and theoretical components aimed at training learners/trainees for a South African International Relations Practitioner career.
