Having identified the need for engineering skills on the factory floor, Optimum Learning Technologies established Optimum Engineering Training as a subsidiary, which is accredited by the QCTO to deliver critical engineering skills. Optimum has offices within Cape Town, Johannesburg and KwaZulu-Natal and have established an accredited, state-of-the-art technical training centre at 30 North Reef road, Elandsfontein, Germiston.
This expansion within Engineering is led by Mike Dalgety, an experienced training manager, who previously carried the massive responsibility of ensuring that apprentices are trained and artisans developed throughout Africa.
Optimum Engineering has developed an integrated programme that would not only develop apprentices according to the highest standards but would train them contextually for the Sensitive Consumer Goods Manufacturing Industry. This is made possible by our training specialists with decades of experience in the industry.
To expand on the concept of integration, we believe that the development of apprentices takes place in the workshop as well as on site. We partner with our customers to ensure that the workplace experience and practical skills, required by the apprentice, fits seamlessly with the knowledge and training complete in the workshop. This is achieved by building a strong relationship with the relevant sites assisting with the development of a coaching culture and using technology to monitor and develop the apprentice logbook.
