Beneficiaries who receive their R350 grant to CashSend To Update Details

SASSA has recently released a message urging those who receive R350 grant payments to update their details. They have also answered questions of when the grant is paid.Advertisement

CashSend

SASSA is now instructing those R350 grant beneficiaries who receive their grant to CashSend to update their bank details. Beneficiaries are now in the process of receiving an SMS instructing them what to do.

Beneficiaries can update their details visiting the SASSA SRD website and following the steps. The agency also urged beneficiaries to make sure that bank accounts are active and registered in their name.

The R350 grant can be paid in various methods such as through CashSend, a bank account, a Post Office or through a Boxer or PicknPay store.

No fixed payment date

The R350 grant does not have a set payment date, said SASSA, as the agency explained:

There is no fixed payment date for the special COVID-19 SRD grant. Every month your application will be checked to verify if you still qualify for the grant. You will be paid each month, provided you still qualify for that month.

SRD grant payments are not done on days where other SASSA grants are done as SASSA dedicates specific days in the month, usually at the beginning, for these SASSA grant payments to take place.

Should you have been approved but you weren’t given a paydate, SASSA has explained that your R350 grant payment has just not been processed yet but that it will be.

“Payments are underway, all qualifying applicants will receive their deserved grants,” said SASSA.

14 million applications

Since the reintroduction of the Covid-19 SRD grant in early August, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed that it received close to 14 million applications.

So far, a total of over 8.3 million applications have been approved and over 5.6 million have since been paid by September 2021.
