The Matatiele Local Municipality is committed to create opportunities for unemployed graduates who are seeking work experience related to their field of study. To further increase the level of investment in the Labour Market and improve the return on the investment. Suitably qualified candidates are hereby invited to apply for the following internship programmes that will be filled in terms of the Employment Equity Plan of the municipality. CORPORATE SERVICES DEPARTMENT 2X: HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT INTERNS REMUNERATION 
Grade 12 Certificate, Degree/National Diploma in Human Resources Management/Public Management, Bachelor of Arts, Computer Literacy (MS Word and MS Word Excel, Knowledge of  Sage VIP System and or Certificate will be an added advantage.
The successful incumbent will be required to:

•Perform specific activities associated with providing support to the line functions within Human Resources Management.

• Assist in the recruitment of new employees.

• Assist in opening personnel file Perform filing of documents in personnel files

•Assist in employees Assistance and Wellness Programme

• Assist in Leave administration Assist with Labour Relations matters

• Assist in capturing of applications and arranging for interviews and shortlisting

• Assist in payroll processes

• Assist in Organisational Development matters

•Perform administration and other related duties

• Willingness to work under pressure and beyond normal office hours

• Assist with Training and Development matters

•Perform any other duties as may be assigned by authority

2X INTERNS BUDGEAND TREASURY OFFICE 
•Grade 12 Certificate Degree/National Diploma with majors in Accounting or Finance, Computer literacy

• Basic understanding of MFM Act and finance related legislation.

The successful incumbent will be required to perform activities associated with:

•Budget planning and Investment Management Financial Reporting and Asset Management

• Supply Chain Management, Revenue and Expenditure Unit. Internal Audit Services.

The  intern will be required to:

•Assist with the preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements.

•Assist in preparation of Budgets and Service Delivery Plans Monitoring Income and Expenditure monthly

• Perform any other duty as may be assigned by competent authority.

INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES DEPARTMENT 3X ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING INTERNS 
| Grade 12 Certificate, Degree/National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, Computer Literacy (MS Word and MS Word Excel, will be an added advantage Knowledge of electrical installation regulations and Legislations Proof of residents from Ward Councilor within the jurisdiction of Matatiele Local Municipality not older than three months.
The successful candidate will be required to perform this duty Electrical Safety Management Knowledge of Hand and Workshop tools New meter installation and testing Conduit and Wiring Cable, Joints and Termination Measuring instruments Drawings Three phase Transformer distribution supply Fault finding Maintaining/Repairing Street lights Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the competent authority or Mentor
INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES DEPARTMENT 1X PROJECT MANAGEMENT UNIT AND OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE AND 2X HUMAN SETTLEMENT &BUILDING CONTROL
Grade 12 Certificate, Degree/ National Diploma in Civil Engineering /National Diploma in Building Management/Construction or equivalent, Computer Literacy (MS Word and MS Word Excel, will be an added advantage Knowledge of construction and engineering Legislations Proof of residents from Ward Councilor within the jurisdiction of Matatiele Local Municipality not older than three months.
The successful incumbent will be required to: Perform specific activities associated with providing support to the line functions within Human Settlement and Building Control and Operation & Maintenance. Assist with conducting site inspection, checking the buildings foundations, ensuring that the foundation is properly constructed for the type and condition of the soil, and it is placed correctly in the ground for proper drainage, visit the work site to inspect the foundation and house plans during and after it has been completed. Provide support in ensuring that all new buildings around town are in line with the set principles. Assist with coordination of Project Management functioning within the municipality Assist in coordination of access road and building of bridges within the Matatiele municipal area, assist with all ward based labour intensive activities Perform road and facilities inspections, label and use material in civil engineering construction. Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the competent authority or Mentor
Community Service Department
Grade 12 Certificate, Degree/National Diploma in Nature Conservation/Environmental Studies OR Natural Resource Management or equivalent, Computer Literacy (MS Word and MS Word Excel, Knowledge of Environmental Legislations.
The successful incumbent will be required to:

•Perform specific activities associated with providing support to the line functions within environment, conservation, and commonage management Assist with species surveys, research and data collection.

•Assist with preparing of conservation plans and reports

• Promote conservation awareness in schools and in community

• Assist in planning and implementation of environmental projects e.g. Alien plants clearing, control burn programme, rehabilitation projects. Assist with supervision of conservation learnership team

•Assist with issuing of access permits to the nature reserve visitors. Assist in general maintenance of nature reserve infrastructure

•Assist with unit general administration duties

•physical fitness to perform duties under physical demanding conditions and beyond normal office hours

•good written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills

•Perform any other duties as may be assigned by authority.

SERVICES DEPARTMENT 1X INTERN: ICT 
•Matric Degree/National Diploma in Information Management Technology

• Ability to speak at least three (3) South African languages.

•Basic understanding of Information Management Technology, policies and legislation. Proof of residents from Ward Councilor within the jurisdiction of Matatiele Local Municipality not older than three months.

The successful incumbent will be required to:

•Assist with user support

•Assist with applications and information systems database

•Assist with network and computer troubleshooting

• Assist with policy and procedure development Assist with network and information security

•Perform any other duty as may be assigned by competent authority.
