About CiTi

The Cape Innovation and Technology Initiative (CiTi) is Africa’s oldest tech incubator. Working with government, academia, business and society, CiTi promotes the inclusive growth of the digital economy.

The Cape Innovation and Technology Initiative (CiTi) as an organisation has been instrumental in developing South Africa’s vibrant technology and entrepreneurship ecosystem. For nearly 20 years, CiTi has worked as the intersection of business, society and government to understand the constraints to inclusive growth, designing and delivering interventions to alleviate these challenges – positively impacting the future of businesses and individuals.

CiTi’s highly successful technology business incubation programmes have supported thousands of entrepreneurs in growing their businesses and contributing towards the local economy, alongside supporting key technology innovation clusters – Edtech, Fintech, Traveltech and Data Science.

CiTi’s Bandwidth Barns are based in Woodstock and Khayelitsha, and are vibrant digital ecosystems for innovation, entrepreneurship and skills delivery. CiTi’s Capa CiTi programme is arguably South Africa’s leading youth tech career accelerator, having recently scaled up to train and place nearly 3000 young people over the next 3 years.
