The Trust is committed to youth skills development by allowing graduates to gain work-based experience. Unemployed graduates are invited to apply for the HR Internship and graduates should be between the age of 18 and 35. The Internship program will run for a period of twelve (12) months.

Applicants must be unemployed, have never employed in the field of the post, and never participated in an internship programme in the relevant field of the post previously.

The following Internship Opportunities are open for applications:

HR / Human Resources Intern

Ref No: HR2023JHB

Requirements: National Diploma or Degree in: Human Resources or Equivalent.

Duties:  Assisting the HR team with all HR administration, which will include Administration and coordination of all staff files, Payroll administration, reception relief, etc. Collating training-related data, including confirmation of training venues and dates. Preparing and compiling interview packs. Assist with induction and orientation of new staff, compiling welcome and starter packs. Maintaining the HR calendar, assisting HR with scheduling of various programs including performance reviews, etc;


Socio-Economic Development Intern

Ref No: SED2023JHB

Requirements: Business-Related Qualification (preferably financial)

Duties: Impact fund management and business support. Socio-Economic programme design and implementation. Entrepreneurial & commercial principles. SMME Policy Analysis. Business valuation and model building. Stakeholder management


Local Government Support Intern

Ref No: LGS2023JHB

Requirements: relevant Project management Qualification.

Duties: Project management. Revenue management. Data collection and management. Site management. Stakeholder management


Programme Management & Research Intern

Ref No: PMR2023JHB

Requirements: Diploma / Degree in: Project management / Business Studies / Social Sciences (Research)

Duties: Administer documentation of work of programmes or projects of the Unit (PMO) documents. Conduct research on the internet and/or in the field and compile research reports, articles and/or factsheets. Monitor and report global and national trends and emerging issues relating to Kagiso Trust programmes. Conduct administration work for research activities. Organise programmes meetings and compile meeting reports


System Administrator Intern

Ref No: EDU2023JHB

Requirements: Diploma / Degree in: Computer Science, IT, IT systems management or Equivalent.

Duties: Provide technical assistance to end-users by responding to inquiries. Provide support in setting up end-user training activities. Monitoring and evaluation of system performance. User experience (UX) testing. Systems usage data collection, analysis and reporting. Database management. Handling account and log in and course access and enrolment, and technical queries. Handing systems with technical issues and troubleshooting. Management of the programme procurement process


Finance Intern

Ref No: FIN2023JHB

Requirements: Finance / BCom Accounting Degree or Equivalent.

Duties: Provision of financial services. Capturing payments on AP and Online banking. Capturing of receipts on AR. Capturing and reconciling cashbooks. Asset management. Asset count, tagging, etc.. Audit preparation. Audit documents preparation (Pulling out invoices according to schedule). Internal control system. Assist in updating risk registers


Policy Development Intern

Ref No: PD2022JHB

Requirements: Degree in: Policy Development & Practices or Social Sciences.

Duties: Regular tracking and monitoring of legislative and policy developments in South Africa and the SADC region. Engaging sector networks and strategic platforms to engage in policy influence with decision-makers. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate policy advocacy initiatives and events. Supporting the drafting of written submissions and involvement in public policy participation processes. Conducting administrative work on policy influence agenda, coordinating Unit schedules and meetings. Assisting in the compilation of meeting minutes and monthly reports


Company Secretariat & Legal Intern

Ref No: CSL2023JHB

Requirements: Chartered Governance certificate

Duties: Arrange and facilitate board and committee meetings. Statutory returns and correspondence with the regulators. Drafting of resolutions. Review of policies and other relevant governance documents.


Communications and Marketing Intern

Ref No: CM2023JHB

Requirements: Diploma / Degree in: Marketing, Journalism, Copywriting, Public Relations or Equivalent.

Duties: Digital Marketing.Events Management. Graphic Design. Copy Writing and all other marketing-related activities.


Civil Society Support Programmes (CSSP) Intern

Ref No: CSSP2023JHB

Requirements: Must have a Grade 12 / Matric certicate

Advantageous: Any Tertiary Qualification (Preferred but not essential)

Duties: Community development/NGO sector. Events planning, logistics and minute-taking. Organisational and work environment. Stakeholder engagement and networking.
