The Faculty of Management Sciences requires the services of Research Assistants for 2023 at the 
PRETORIA WEST CAMPUS

Office of the Dean 
3 X Research Student Assistants (19 hours)

Core functions:

  • Assist the department with research administration.
  • Attend to research inquiries from the departments and researchers.
  • Receive submissions from the departments.
  • Prepare agenda for the DRC
  • Distribute minutes of the DRC
  • Provide information to students and researchers.
  • Assist the DRC chairperson with admin-related duties that they may be assigned.
  • Liaise with the Research Office.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a Master’s degree and registered for Doctoral degree qualification in 2023
  • Full proficiency in English is a prerequisite.

Academic qualifications:

  • Candidates are required to be studying in the Faculty of Management Sciences.
  • Previous work experience in an administration environment will be an added advantage

The Directorate of Risk Management has a permanent position for a Risk Manager at Pretoria Campus.

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Strategy development and execution
  • Governance and Risk Operations Management
  • Policy and procedure development and review
  • Risk Management
  • System and Tools
  • Resource Management
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

Minimum requirements:

Academic qualifications:

  • 4 year relevant Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Risk Management (NQF Level 8).

Experience:

  • 3 years relevant experience at Manager/Practitioner level.
  • Exposure to Risk management in a Higher Education environment.

Other requirements:

  • Must be a member of Institute of Risk Management of South Africa.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  •   Knowledge of coordinating all risk management activities
  •   Knowledge of collating and consolidating risk management reports
  •   Conducting risk awareness campaigns
  •   Reporting to the Risk Management Committee and Chief Internal Auditor on all risk related activities
  •   Knowledge of compiling and consolidating and maintaining the Institutional Risk Register
  •   Knowledge of change management.

The Department of Marketing, Supply Chain and Sport Management, in the Faculty of Management Sciences requires the services of part-time lecturers for day/evening classes as listed below:

Critical Performance Areas

  • Preparing and conducting lectures both distance and contact
  • Advanced presentation skills for both contact/distance mode
  • Proven ability in conducting teaching with technology
  • Setting and marking of all assessments both contact/distance
  • Participating in departmental meetings and subject meetings
  • General administration such as capturing test and assignment marks, compiling of learning material, uploading documents such as teaching materials on the official LMS platform of the University
  • Student consultation/communication for both contact/distance

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters or Doctorate Degree relating to any of the fields below.
  • Study record with major subjects listed.
  • At least three years of teaching (contact and distance) and/or research experience at a tertiary institution will be required and/or industry related experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office as well as other teaching and learning with technology software
  • Full proficiency in English is a prerequisite.
  • Member of a professional body will be an added advantage.
  • Completion of a TUT License to Teach programme will be compulsory once appointed.

  • Production planning and execution of practical driven by research gaps in sizing.
  • Apply LMS as a tool for teaching and learning.

Minimum Requirements

  • A PhD in Fashion or a Masters Degree in Design Studies with a specialization in either Fashion Design Technology or Design & Management.
  • Ability to use LMS (Brightspace).

Experience:

  • Experience in teaching at tertiary level (preferably in the university) will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in research and curriculum development (Design Studies).
  • Experience working in a research-related environment.
