Purpose

  • The main purpose of this position is to render food preparation/serving and cleaning services at the serving areas within the Durban Cash Centre.

Requirements

  • A Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification;
  • A certificate in food preparation would be an added advantage; and
  • One year experience in the hospitality environment, specifically in the area of cleaning and serving.

Responsibilities

  • Organise self to ensure that work allocated is completed within set time and defined standards.
  • Perform routine and well-defined tasks under direct supervision (including ordering of required ingredients, lunch club food preparation, serving food to lunch club members, till point, setting up and preparing meeting rooms/pause areas, cleaning and other scullery duties).
  • Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in own work areas.
  • Apply basic rules of courtesy when in contact with other employees and visitors to the cash centre, always displaying a service orientation.
  • Engage with own team members in a manner that reflects a sound and effective working relationship.
  • Proactively understand the impact of own environment output in relation to a wider service delivery context and proposition.
  • Willingly and enthusiastically make useful and meaningful changes to manner in which he/she works.
