PURPOSE

  • To ensure timeous payment of landlord, managing agent and municipal accounts, avoid penalties and engaging with external parties regarding property expenses which are not aligned to the Lease Agreement.
  • To ensure accurately aged reconciliations are prepared to achieve timeous follow up of overdue items and resolution thereof.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Accounting (12 month/intermediate stage or equivalent) advantageous;
  • 1 year’s reconciliation experience required;
  • Minimum of 1-year Properties experience advantageous

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Sound understanding of Accounting Systems (Oracle would be advantageous)
  • Computer literacy – Oracle, Excel, Word
  • High problem-solving ability,
  • Strong numeric ability,

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Update Oracle Properties system to produce payments for:- Rentals, Electricity, Municipal Utilities and Rates, etc.,
  • Record balances and ageing as per landlord/managing agent statements,
  • Resolve outstanding reconciling items and action outstanding entries,
  • Perform age analysis by landlord/managing agent and drive clearing thereof,
  • Check remittances and attach supporting documentation to send to landlords/managing agents,
  • Processing of invoices and ensuring payment thereof,
  • Escalate issues and communicate to the Accountant/Manager any non-adherence to procedures and controls,
  • Administer, follow-up and resolve queries,
  • Ensure that all documents are kept in line with WW policy and Legal requirements and properly filed and/or timeously sent for archiving,
  • Identify and communicate any bottlenecks and late documentation,
  • Deliver high performance consistently,
  • Build and maintain a good relationship with customers and the rest of the team,
