HOUSEKEEPER
Ref: 001/2022
Salary Range – R 132 273.76 – 139 357.20 pa (All-inclusive package)

Financial and Fiscal Commission (FFC) is seeking to appoint a Housekeeper on a permanent
basis to provide cleaning and housekeeping services to the FFC and ensure compliance with
relevant legislature and FFC policies as applicable to the position.

1. THE PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
This position is responsible for rendering cleaning and housekeeping services in the Financial
and Fiscal Commission offices.
2. LOCATION: CAPE TOWN OFFICE
3. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 10, with at least 1 year cleaning experience in a similar office environment;
• Basic numeracy skills;
• Good interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Teamwork experience.

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key outputs of the Housekeeper are but not limited to:
• Assist with housekeeping and cleaning requirements, as delegated by Facilities Coordinator;
• Clean kitchen equipment and collect and wash all used cutlery and crockery, daily;
• Clean office equipment (telephones, copiers, computers), internal office windows monthly
• Dust offices, empty waste baskets, and shred disposed of papers, daily;
• Clean boardrooms and prepare for meetings as notified by Facilities Coordinator;
• Report all faulty equipment / broken furniture to Facilities Coordinator immediately;
• Prepare offices for new arrivals (housekeeping aspects), one week in advance;
• Vacuuming of office carpets and clean office restroom facilities daily;
• Assist with office security tasks, as delegated by Facilities Coordinator, which include:
✓ Check that office windows and doors are locked at close of day;
✓ Supervise service provider visits (plant maintenance, aircon maintenance, hygiene
services) and control access to offices / restricted spaces as per service provider visit
schedules;
• Assist with catering support for FFC meetings or functions, as delegated by Facilities
Coordinator;
• Provide switchboard / reception relief as delegated by the Facilities Coordinator; and
• Document stock levels of kitchen supplies and submit grocery-shopping list to Facilities
Coordinator 3 days in advance of next purchase.
