Overview

The Interns: Procurement and Asset Management will contribute towards the efficient management and control of the Electoral Commission’s procurement process and assets. The Interns will report to the Deputy Manager’s Assets and Procurement respectively.

Responsibilities/Duties

Key performance areas:

  • Assist staff with their tasks and responsibilities related to asset management and control whilst undertaking daily activities to learn about the basics of the section’s portfolio, i.e. verification of assets, receipt of assets, monitoring and capturing the results of asset movements, disposal of assets and maintenance of Asset Register.
  • Assist with various administrative duties within the section that will include reporting requirements and filing/archiving.
  • Assist with selected duties so as to obtain exposure to electoral operations, financial and supply chain management matters, etc.

Requirements

Basic requirements:

  • Applicants must be in possession of Matric / N3 certificate and a tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in Logistics/ Supply Chain Management (a post-graduate qualification will be an added advantage).
  • The candidate must possess good communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

He/ she must be computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel and possess the following attributes:

  • ability to work under pressure;
  • be prepared to work long hours;
  • pro-active; decisive; confident and be service driven.
