Monash South Africa is a private university founded in 2001, located in Johannesburg, in the province of Gauteng. Monash South Africa is entering the most exciting phase since its formation in 2001. Requirements
English is the language of instruction and assessment at Monash South Africa. Students must meet one of the following English language requirements in order to be eligible for admission:

South African students
South African National Senior Certificate (NSC)
- a minimum score of 4 (50-59%)
South African Senior Certificate (SAFCERT)
- a pass in an examination equivalent to English at the higher grade (first or second language)
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- a minimum score of 6.5 (no band lower than 6)
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
- Paper based – a score of 550 or more, with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5 or more.
- Internet based – at least 79 overall, 21 for writing, 12 for listening, 13 for reading, 18 for speaking
International students
- a pass in English at A level, O level, minimum of a C, International Baccalaureate or equivalent.
Foundation Programme entry
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- Social Science stream – a score of 6 (no band lower than 6)
- Business, IT and Health streams – a score of 5.5 (no band lower than 5)
Test of English as a Foreign Language(TOEFL)
- Social Science stream
- Paper Based: score of at least 523 with a TWE score of 4.5 or more
- Internet Based: score of 69 overall, with a minimum score of 12 in Listening, 13 in Reading, 21 in Writing and 18 in Speaking
- Business, IT and Health streams
- Paper Based: score of at least 471 with a TWE score of 4.0 or more
- Internet Based: score of 52 overall, with a minimum score of 5 in Listening, 5 in Reading, 15 in Writing and 14 in Speaking.
We select students based on academic merit. You must be at least 17 years old when you enrol (applications may be made while you are 16). To be eligible for an undergraduate degree at Monash South Africa, you must have completed one of the following:

How to Apply
Apply online
Choose your course code – Monash Online Admission system will guide you through the application process. You’ll be prompted to create an account or log in if you have one already. You can save your application at any time and return to it later – just be sure to complete it and supply any relevant documentation, like certified copies , before applications close. Once complete, your application is automatically submitted.
Paper-based application
If you’d like to lodge your application by posting, emailing or faxing it to us you’ll need to:
- Check that you meet the academic requirements and English language requirements for the degree or programme you’d like to study.
- Make sure you have certified copies of any relevant documentation (like your academic transcript, English scores and identity book/passport) requested.
- Download and complete the application for admission form (pdf, 1281Kb) or use the copy found in the back of the Monash South Africa Undergraduate Course Guide.
- Apply for credit for previous study(advanced standing) by completing theform for Advanced Standing (pdf, 144Kb) – attach this to your application so it can be processed at the same time.
Master of Business Administration application process
Complete the MBA Application form and submit it together with the following documents:
