Submit CV: Internship Programme at the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA)

A new innovation-driven mind set for South Africa is needed to ensure a sustainable stream of skilled workers. For this to happen we have to begin arming our young people from foundational level with problem-solving skills and the ability to make rapid decisions based on facts and evidence. They must also be instilled with commercial awareness and have the talent for spotting opportunities.

This Future Generation Programme is aimed at leading graduates to master Higher Order Thinking (HOT) Skills. These skills are the very foundation of innovation, advanced problem-solving skills and full-spectrum thinking. The programme will start arming them with the skills in Innopreneurship, the science and art of converting ideas into wealth, well before they enter the workforce.

The Future Generation 500 is an initiatives aimed at strengthening critical thinking capabilities to enable innovation to occur. The critical thinking skills building will span over a 3 year period

• Year 1: Development of creative thinking skill
• Year 2: Idea to product and technology development process
• Year 3: Developing the collaborative and entrepreunrial skills.

The outcome of the programme is to develop skilled leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs with capabilities to progress technologies through the Technology Readiness.

Level (TRL) development value chain. This will feed into building a pipeline of innovations to achieve the TIA mandate of the creation of new technologies in order to improve the economic growth and quality of life of all South Africans. This call out will allow for recruitment of interns for the 1st leg of the programme.

Criteria:

• SA citizens with qualification:
• Matric + 1 year Certificate or P1/P2
• Matric + 2 years Certificates (National Diploma)
• Matric + 3/4 (Undergraduate)
• Post graduate degree in the field of: Science, Engineering and Technology (Energy, Environmental, Health Sanitation and Water, Agriculture, Biotech, Advanced Manufacturing, ICT and related fields)
