Unisa has taken the leap due to Covid-19 and moved their registrations for 2021 online. Due to the rise in infections and the second wave, this is definitely a good move for Unisa and other Universities to make. Registrations are set to open soon so be ready.

Unisa has stated:

Due to the resurgence of the Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa, all semester 1 and year module registrations for the 2021 academic year must be submitted online. All Unisa’s self-help registration facilities countrywide will be unavailable during the upcoming registration period.

Students will only be allowed to come to the offices if they have serious registration issues. They will then need to complete a Covid-19 health check on the Covid-19 health check app before visiting the offices.

Returning students will be required to use the booking app to book an appointment before visiting a Unisa office.

Should you come across an error message, do not panic. You just need to follow corrections from the error message instead. Unisa explained, “If you encounter any problems with your online registration, please read the error message carefully and correct your selection of modules before submitting your registration. This will enable the university to process your registration timeously.”

Registration dates are as follows:

Undergraduate qualifications (higher certificates, diplomas & degrees, advanced certificates, advanced diplomas, BTechs & postgraduate certificates)

  • Semester modules: 5 January – 12 February 2021
  • Year modules: 5 January – 11 March 2021

Master’s and doctoral

  • 5 January – 31 March 2021 (some exceptions apply)

Should you want to add modules, you then need to login to myUnisa, choose the myAdmin link, click on “Student Admin” and then on “Register Additional Modules”.

Students with disabilities can contact the ARCSWiD office on 012 429 6257 or 012 429 2552 or email Ms Vukati Ndlovu at [email protected].

Although students will not be able to visit the registration facilities, Unisa’s Student Communication Service Centre will be available to handle queries.

The Service Centre is available for phone calls on 080 000 1870 or via e-mail at [email protected]

Don’t wait too long to register, secure your spot.
