De Beers Careers: Graduate / Internship Programme 2018

Only applicants from Ngwathe and Moqhaka Municipalities will be considered

As part of youth development and capacitation, De Beers Voorspoed Mine based in Kroonstad is recruiting Nineteen (19) young people for experiential learning / internship opportunities (from Ngwathe and Moqhaka Municipalities) who need experiential training as part of the requirement to assist the applicant to complete his / her qualification or internship as work experience exposure. The programme will be for the period of 12 months as a minimum to end no later than 31 December 2019 full-time depending on the discipline need.

The commencement of the programme will be in the month of May 2018 or earlier.

Engineering [x2]

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • N6, S4 or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR
  • S4 or National Diploma Light Current / Instrument Engineering / Electrical (Process Control and Instrumentation)
Engineering – Apprentices [x2]

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • N2 with Plater or Fitter or Electrical Trade Theory as a major subject (Full Certificate – 4 subjects)
  • Completed off the job modules (Training Center) and in need of on the job modules (Workplace)
Metallurgy

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • N6 or S4 in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
Human Resources [x2]

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • N6 or University or University of Technology qualification in Human Resources Management or Business Management
Information Technology

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • National Diploma or B-Tech or Degree in Information Technology
Communication

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • N6 or National Diploma or Degree in Public Relations Management / Business Management / Communication / Journalism
Finance

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • N6 or National Diploma or Degree in Business Management / Cost Management and Accounting
Environmental

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • 3 year qualification majoring and focusing in the field of Environmental Science, relevant Natural Science
Occupational Hygiene

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • Diploma or B-Tech in Environmental Health
Supply Chain

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • National Diploma or B-Tech or Degree in Logistics Management / Supply Chain Management / Commercial Law / Procurement
  • Drivers’ License will be an advantage
Security

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • Study towards or completed a Diploma / Degree in Security and Risk Management or having done subjects related to law in a qualification, but would like to pursue an opportunity in Security
Administration [x3]

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Equivalent
  • N6 or National Diploma or Degree in Office Management and Technology / Management Assistant
Geotechnical

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • Degree in Geology / Geotechnical Engineering
  • Drivers’ License will be an advantage
Mine Survey

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 / Equivalent
  • National Diploma or B-Tech in Mine Surveying or Degree in Mine Surveying / Mineral Resources Management
  • Drivers’ License will be an advantage

n addition to above minimum criteria the incumbent will also meet the following requirements:

  • Good written and verbal communication in English
  • Be able to analyse and interpret information
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team
  • A continuous mindset
  • Computer skills
  • Assist in building a high performance culture
  • Able to travel if need be
  • Be willing to work standby / overtime / CONTOPS as relevant and required by the discipline
  • Appointment to these positions is dependent on successful completion of the Company’s screening protocols such as being declared Medical and physically fit; security clearance; validity check on qualifications; Psychometric and Technical assessments.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Situated about 35km North of Kroonstad in the Free State, Voorspoed mine offers great opportunities to talented people. The mine is an open-pit operation and the life of mine is estimated to be until 2020.
