Sibanye-Stillwater Bursary, Learnership And Internship Opportunities

Sibanye-Stillwater is offering study opportunities at the following Universities in 2019: University of Johannesburg, University of the Witwatersrand, University of Pretoria and North-West University

A limited number of positions are being offered to local and labour sending community members for a full time study opportunity in line with the Sibanye’s business needs in the following disciplines:

  • BSc Mining Engineering
  • BSc Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • BSc Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering
  • BSc Geology/Honours

Requirements:

  • Have a minimum Grade 12 Matric Certificate with University Acceptance (Mid-year results will be provisionally considered if currently studying)
  • Have the minimum university acceptance APS of 23
  • Achieved a minimum of at least: English 5 (60%+), Mathematics 5(60%+) and Physical Science 5 (60%+)
  • Reside in Kloof Labour sending Area or local community
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
  • Applicants who achieve an evaluation outcome score of 4 or higher

Sibanye- Stillwater is offering an internship programme to employees who have obtained a tertiary qualification.

Community Interns 18.2 – HR Projects

Requirement:

The Appointee Should:

  • Have a relevant Degree (and or higher) when applying for an Internship programme
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Have an understanding of the HR value chain
  • Be able to work in a complex mining environment
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Community Intern 18.2 – HR – HRMIS

The Appointee Should:

  • Have a relevant Degree (and or higher) when applying for an Internship programme
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Have advanced computer skills
  • Be able to work in a complex mining environment
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Learner Official Mining Driefontein (A-Stream)

A limited number of positions are being offered to Driefontein Local Comminity for an opportunity in line with Sibanye-Stillwater’s business needs in the Engineering fields listed below:

The Appointee should:

  • Have a grade 12 Certificate with minimum English 5(60%+), Mathematics 5 (60%+), and Physical Science 5 (60%+)
  • Possess University Acceptance with an APS of 23 (Mid-year results will be provisionally considered if currently still studying)
  • Not currently be busy or have completed prior University studies
  • Reside in Driefontein Labour sending Area or local community
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Learner Official Mining (A-Stream)

The Appointee should:

  • Have a grade 12 Certificate with minimum English 5(60%+), Mathematics 5 (60%+), and Physical Science 5 (60%+)
  • Possess University Acceptance with an APS of 23 (Mid-year results will be provisionally considered if currently still studying)
  • Not currently be busy or have completed prior University studies
  • Reside in Beatrix Labour sending Area or local community
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Learner Official Mining Kloof (A-Stream)

The Appointee should:

  • Have a grade 12 Certificate with minimum English 5(60%+), Mathematics 5 (60%+), and Physical Science 5 (60%+)
  • Possess University Acceptance with an APS of 23 (Mid-year results will be provisionally considered if currently still studying)
  • Not currently be busy or have completed prior University studies
  • Reside in Kloof Labour sending Area or local community
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

LEARNERSHIP CLOSING: 25 January 2019

  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae
  • Certified Copies of ID and relevant qualifications
  • Complete Academic Record
  • By Submitting your CV, applicants are consenting to the Company’s assessment and interview process

Beneficiaries of the internship programme will receive a 2-3* year fixed-term employment contract and will specialise in Project Management to obtain post graduate experience in line with Sibanye- Stillwater business needs, to individuals who have obtained

Applicants must submit the following for LEARNERSHIP:

  • Applicants will need to undergo an interview process and psychometric assessment
  • Prospective candidates will be required to complete workplace orientation and underground exposure visits as part of the selection process
  • Applicants must upload proof of residence, CV and certified (SAPS) copies of ID and qualifications online
  • Final allocation is dependent on applicants obtaining an acceptance letter from the University of Johannesburg
  • All applicants will be subject to clearance screening by South African Police Services as required by the National Explosives Act

Beneficiaries of the Leaner Official A-Stream Career opportunity will receive a bursary and practical exposure (Learnership) on a full employment package with company benefits aligned with Sibanye-Stillwater Learner Official Scheme.  All tuition fees and books will be provided for by Sibanye-Stillwater.
