NHFC: Bursary / Scholarship Programme 2019

The NHFC has set-up a tertiary bursary fund to bolster capacity, expertise and work opportunities related to the housing finance sector. It is intended for tertiary students in the second year and postgraduate levels, in fields of study listed here-below:

  • Finance
  • Economic Development
  • Risk Management
  • Real Estate,
  •  Property Markets
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Human Settlements
  • Housing,
  • Construction Economics
  • Housing Construction
  • Developmental Studies
  • Built Environment

The Bursary Applicants must:

  • be a financially disadvantaged South Africa n Citizen
  • prove high academic performance and achievement

Although awarding of the full bursary quantum shall, as a rule be honoured, the NHFC reserves the right to prioritise tuition fees, prescribed books and course material. Student accommodation and other requirements will be given less priority. The NHFC Bursary is renewable each year, depending on academic performance.

Required Documents

  • Grade 12 and past Academic results
  • RSA Bar Coded ID
  • Proof of admission by the University
  • Academic record on the official letterhead of the University
  • ID of Parent/Guardian
  • IDs/Birth Certificates of all persons listed as part of household
  • Proof of Monthly Income of Parent / Guardian

If the required documentation is not attached to the NHFC Bursary Application Form, it will not be considered further. The closing date for applications is 31 November 2019 late applications will not be considered. Only short – listed applicants will be contacted.
