Junior Cartels Investigator sought for a career in the dynamic field of competition law enforcement. The Cartels Division of the Competition Commission seeks to fill a vacancy for a Junior Cartels Investigator. If you are energetic and have an aptitude for investigations; research and analysis of complex economic or legal issues, and are interested in joining our hard working team of cartels investigators, then the Competition Commission invites you to apply for this challenging position.

We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking and committed individual who is in possession of:

  • At least an LLB degree or equivalent qualification and 1-3 years working experience in complex investigations. Experience in investigating competition law cases will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to undertake complex investigations independently and within multidisciplinary teams; lead investigation teams; possess written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills; and stakeholder management skills.
  • Working experience in information collection and analysis, both on a tactical and strategic level.

Reporting to the Cartels Divisional Manager, the Junior Cartels Investigator’s duties include, amongst others:

  • To investigate contraventions of section 4(1) (b) of the Competition Act.
  • To administer the Commission’s Corporate Leniency Policy.
  • To write, review and present investigation reports.

To assist with executing strategy and the business plan of the Division

Investigator, Cartels Division

The Cartels Division of the Competition Commission seeks to fill a vacancy for a Cartels Investigator. Minimum Requirements

We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking and committed individual who is in possession of:

  • At least an LLB degree or equivalent qualification and 3 years working experience in complex investigations. Experience in investigating competition law cases will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to undertake complex investigations independently and within multidisciplinary teams; lead investigation teams; possess written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills; and stakeholder management skills.
  • Working experience in information collection and analysis, both on a tactical and strategic level.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager: Cartels Division, the Cartels Investigator’s duties include, amongst others:

  • To investigate contraventions of section 4(1)(b) of the Competition Act.
  • To administer the Commission’s Corporate Leniency Policy.
  • To write, review and present investigation reports.
  • To assist with leading and managing of investigations.
  • To assist in the effective management and administration of the Division.
  • To assist with crafting and executing strategy and the business plan of the Division.

Senior Cartels Investigator (Grade 6)

The Cartels Division of the Competition Commission seeks to fill a vacancy for a Senior Cartels Investigator. If you are energetic and have an aptitude for investigation; research and analysis of complex economic or legal issues, and are interested in joining our hard working team of cartels investigators, then the Competition Commission invites you to apply for this challenging position.

We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking and committed individual who is in possession of:

  • At least an LLB degree or equivalent qualification and 5 years working experience in complex investigations. Experience in investigating competition law cases will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to undertake complex investigations independently and within multidisciplinary teams; lead investigation teams; possess written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills; and stakeholder management skills.
  • Working experience in information collection and analysis, both on a tactical and strategic level.

Principal Cartels

  • At least an LLB degree or equivalent qualification and 5-10 years working experience in complex investigations. Experience in investigating competition law cases will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to undertake complex investigations independently and within multidisciplinary teams; lead investigation teams; possess written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills; and stakeholder management skills.
  • Working experience in information collection and analysis, both on a tactical and strategic level.

Reporting to the Manager: Cartels Division, the Principal Cartels Investigator’s duties include, amongst others:

  • To investigate contraventions of section 4(1)(b) of the Competition Act.
  • To administer the Commission’s Corporate Leniency Policy.
  • To strategically lead and manage operations and investigations.
  • To assist in the effective management and administration of the Division.
  • To write, review and present investigation reports.
  • To assist with crafting and executing strategy and the business plan of the Division.
