Call for Appointment of Unemployed Youth Graduates to be Enrolled for MISA Internship Programme 2014

The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) is a Government Component within the Ministry for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs. This initiative is an integral part of the Department of Cooperative Governance’s programme towards improving municipal infrastructure provisioning and maintenance in line with the objectives of Local Government Turnaround Strategy. MISA’s primary function is to support municipalities in planning, development and management, operations and maintenance as well as building technical capacity for effective delivery and management of municipal infrastructure.

Purpose: The purpose of the MISA Internship Programme is to provide interns with practical work. This programme is designed for unemployed youth graduates who have completed their tertiary studies and who have not been an intern in the Public Service.

The career fields within MISA that support the Internship Programme include the following:

Internship Programme: Back Office Support

  • Capacity Development – 6 Positions (Ref: CD/011)
  • Office of the Chief Executive Officer – 1 Position Ref: CEO/011)
  • Municipal Sectoral Technical Support – 3 Positions (Ref: MSTS/011)
  • Human Resource Management – 2 Positions (Ref: HRM/011)
  • Information Communication Technology – 1 Position (Ref: ICT/011)
  • Communications – 1 Position (Ref: COM/011)
  • Finance – 3 Positions (Ref: FIN/011)
  • Supply Chain Management – 2 Positions (Ref: SCM/011)

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a 3-year diploma/degree or N6 qualification.
  • Applicants should be within the age of 18-35 years of age.

Important: Applicants who have previously been on an Internship Programme in any Government Department will not be considered for this Programme. Only one programme must be attached to each CV in line to your field of study. This is a 12-month programme.
