The University of the Free State seeks an E-guide Developer/Graphic Design Intern to join its Centre for Teaching and Learning on a 1 year contract. The purpose of the internship programme is to offer graduates (diploma/degree) with no relevant work experience the opportunity to obtain practical workplace exposure and experience.
Assumption of duties: 01 September 2016.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist with the design and development of e-guides.
- Assist with the design of multimedia objects for use in teaching and learning.
- Assist with the design of internal graphics for invitations, posters and cover pages.
Inherent requirements
Certificate, diploma or degree in graphic design or multimedia and design.
Updated graphic design/multimedia portfolio with a curriculum vitae.
Required competencies
- Intermediate computer skills, including but not limited to MS Word and MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate computer skills of Coral Draw or Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University’s richly diverse working environment.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Effective organisation skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
The following criteria apply to the selection of candidates
- Not currently participating in an existing learnership/internship programme.
- Willing to sign a learnership/internship agreement with the UFS.
- Candidate must be available for a period of 1 year.
- Postgraduate qualification will serve as a recommendation.
