Position Summary:

To assist the Good Housekeeping Beauty and Fashion team with their day-to-day tasks at Associated Media Publishing based at our Cape Town Head Office.

PLEASE NOTE : THIS IS AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fashion:

• Social media posts
• Sourcing models for fashion shoots – asking agencies for digipacks to email
• Setting up casting times with model agencies
• Setting up shoot dates and location (sometimes have to go on location recces and sort out permits)
• Booking artists photographer and models after doing a casting
• Emailing fashion brief out to clients on what the fashion story entails
• Unpacking fashion boxes and sorting out on rail before shoot (liaising with the stylist to make sure all good or can help her at all on her souring days )
• On day of shoot write up credits
• After shoot sort out clothing against lists and repack boxes
• Type up names and liaise with office manager which ones go to Joburg and which ones remain at despatch for clients to collect
• Email all clients to say thank you and collect
• Follow up on outstanding prices
• Get inspiration from various blogs and magazines and put aside for me or photostat things of interest or items I have marked
• Upfront pages – sourcing
• Shooting and returning
• And as in main fashion doing those duties all over again
• Going to the in-house library and keeping track of new magazines for

Beauty:

• Deciding on what are the trends and what we will be shooting for the following months
• Send out beauty brief
• Unpack boxes and keep room tidy
• Keep new beauty products to one side and rotate the ones we have shot already and box away for beauty sale later in year
• Source high res images on portals
• Order numbers for all artists keep track and email
• Filing press releases
• Sometimes attend launches
• Thank clients after launch via email
• Online writing – at least three features a week – to liaise with Online Content Manager

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
• Passionate about the brand
• Proactive, motivated and enthusiastic
• Problem solver
• Experience – Must be a Marketing/ Public Relations or related student and be able to dedicate a minimum of five hours a day, five days a week or eight hours a day, four days a week.
• Computer literate – MS Word, PowerPoint and knowledge of Excel
• Driver’s license required – must have a car available
